Lauren Cates has been appointed as Vice President of Business Development for the Emerging Markets Group at Akima, marking a significant step in the company’s growth journey.

With over 15 years of federal contracting expertise, Lauren will spearhead growth strategy and expand Akima’s advanced technologies and digital solutions portfolio for government and military clients. Her deep experience across mission-critical domains further strengthens the company’s competitive edge.

Previously, Lauren led the Growth team at Indigo IT LLC and spent more than a decade at UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies, where she managed billion-dollar pipelines and consistently exceeded performance targets. Working under Chief Growth Officer Michael Alvarado, her appointment reinforces Akima’s commitment to strategic expansion and innovation.
