Apple has unveiled the upgraded Apple Vision Pro, now featuring the powerful M5 chip and the Dual Knit Band for enhanced comfort. The latest version brings improved performance, display rendering, battery life, and immersive spatial experiences with visionOS 26, along with all-new spatial apps and Apple Immersive content.
Leap Forward in Performance with M5
The new M5 chip, built using third-generation 3-nanometer technology, powers a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, delivering faster multithreaded performance, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and support for mesh shading. Vision Pro now renders 10% more pixels on its micro-OLED displays, offering sharper visuals, crisper text, and smoother experiences up to 120Hz refresh rate. The 16-core Neural Engine accelerates AI-powered tasks by up to 50%, enabling features like capturing Personas, transforming photos into spatial scenes, and running third-party apps faster than ever.
Paired with the R1 chip, which processes input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones in real time, Vision Pro creates a seamless augmented reality experience. The high-performance battery supports up to 2.5 hours of general use or 3 hours of video playback, and can be powered while in use for extended sessions.
Comfortable and Adjustable Dual Knit Band
The Dual Knit Band enhances user comfort with 3D-knitted upper and lower straps, providing cushioning, breathability, and stretch. Embedded tungsten inserts in the lower strap offer balance and stability, while the Fit Dial allows fine-tuned adjustments. Available in small, medium, and large, the Dual Knit Band is compatible with the previous-generation Vision Pro and can be purchased separately.
VisionOS 26 Unlocks Immersive Spatial Experiences
With visionOS 26, users can access widgets, enhanced Personas, spatial scenes with generative AI, and immersive 180°, 360°, and wide field-of-view videos from action cameras. The Apple Vision Pro app on iPadOS 26.1 extends these experiences to iPad users, allowing seamless discovery of apps, games, and content.
New Apps, Content, and Gaming
Apple Vision Pro now hosts over 1 million apps, including 3,000 apps designed for visionOS. Users can explore virtual home design, fashion, global travel, and planetarium experiences. Apple Immersive delivers new series, films, concerts, and select live sports, with a personal theater experience on a screen up to 100 feet wide. The Vision Pro also supports advanced gaming with ultra-high-resolution displays, Spatial Audio, low latency, and popular game controllers like Sony DualSense.
“With the breakthrough performance of M5, the latest Apple Vision Pro delivers sharper visuals, faster AI workflows, and even more battery life, setting a new standard for spatial computing,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing.
