CITGO Petroleum Corporation has introduced CITGO PlusPAY™, a new Automated Clearing House (ACH)-based mobile payment option integrated within the Club CITGO® app. The initiative reflects the company’s response to growing consumer demand for digital, flexible, and loyalty-driven payment solutions across fuel and convenience retail environments.
The mobile-first feature enables customers to link their bank accounts directly within the app, allowing payments to be debited securely without the use of physical cash or credit cards. Designed to streamline transactions at participating CITGO locations, PlusPAY integrates payment processing with real-time loyalty rewards and transaction tracking.
Enhanced Security and Seamless Checkout
According to Joey Low, Manager of Marketing and Loyalty Programs, the PlusPAY architecture incorporates advanced encryption and real-time authorization protocols to ensure transactional security from enrollment through payment completion. The system eliminates debit holds and reduces reliance on physical payment methods, offering a faster and more streamlined checkout experience both at the pump and in-store.
The ACH-based structure also lowers transaction fees for retailers, strengthening operational efficiency across CITGO’s branded network.

Loyalty Incentives and Introductory Rewards
CITGO PlusPAY offers members a minimum reward of 10 cents per gallon – up to 30 gallons per transaction-along with the ability to stack additional loyalty offers. New users are eligible for a one-time introductory incentive: four fill-ups at 25 cents off per gallon (up to 30 gallons each) when using PlusPAY through the Club CITGO app.
By embedding these incentives directly into the mobile payment flow, CITGO aims to increase customer retention, drive repeat visits, and reinforce the value of its loyalty ecosystem.
