ICEYE, the global leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite systems, has secured EUR 150 million in new funding in a Series E round led by General Catalyst, with broad pan-European participation. The financing will enable ICEYE to expand its world-leading SAR constellation, enhance sensing capabilities, and deliver sovereign space-based intelligence solutions across Europe.
Accelerating Sovereign Satellite Systems
The investment allows ICEYE to scale its deployment of sovereign satellite systems for European nations and allies. With the world’s largest commercial SAR constellation, ICEYE provides near real-time, all-weather, day-or-night Earth observation data, empowering governments and institutions to manage risk and respond rapidly to critical situations.

Strategic Impact for European Security
According to Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, Managing Director at General Catalyst, ICEYE supports Europe’s sovereign space capabilities, enabling ministries and intelligence agencies to secure borders with on-demand imagery. The platform also allows allied nations to deploy turnkey satellite missions independently, strengthening regional defense and operational readiness.
Next-Generation SAR Technology
ICEYE’s fourth-generation software-defined satellites deliver 16 cm resolution commercial SAR imagery, allowing rapid deployment of new capabilities via software updates without hardware refresh cycles. The company plans to scale production to one satellite per week next year, providing unmatched speed and scale in sovereign space capabilities.
Proven Track Record and Partnerships
ICEYE has successfully collaborated with multiple European defense organizations, including the Polish Armed Forces, Portuguese Air Force, Royal Netherlands Air Force, Greek National Space Program, Finnish Defence Forces, and NATO Allied Command Operations. To date, the company has launched 62 satellites, providing persistent monitoring and actionable intelligence across diverse sectors such as defense, security, maritime, insurance, and disaster response.
