The Sister Accord® Foundation, founded by philanthropist and corporate leader Sonia Jackson Myles, hosted its 12th Annual Sister Accord® Day on August 30–31, 2025, in Cincinnati. The two-day celebration, themed “A Weekend of Sisterhood & Love,” brought together leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and community members to inspire unity, leadership, and acts of kindness.
Sister Accord® Day and Its Legacy
Declared by the City of Cincinnati in 2013, August 31st is recognized as Sister Accord® Day. Each year, the Foundation celebrates the occasion by encouraging people worldwide to perform random acts of kindness for girls and women. Over the years, the day has evolved into a symbol of gratitude, empowerment, and global sisterhood.
Events and Highlights
The weekend began with the 34th Leadership Development Tea Party at Prime Cincinnati, emphasizing mental, emotional, and physical health alongside leadership rooted in gratitude. Key highlights included:

Honoring five leaders: Lindsey Webster, Kala Gibson, Tracey Artis, Mary Y. Graham, and Rachel DesRochers.

Launch of “Equipping A Generation Of Leaders For The City Of Cincinnati”, a program for 100 local girls funded by Procter & Gamble and BT Rise.

Awarding the $5,000 Nella D. Jackson Memorial Scholarship to Mar’Kia Williams.

A keynote on “The Power of Gratitude” and a Safety in Sisterhood™ masterclass.

Global Reach and Community Investment
Since its founding, The Sister Accord® Foundation has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships and grants to women and women-owned businesses. Its YouTube channel has surpassed 88 million views, extending the Foundation’s reach globally. With chapters already active in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and South Africa, and a soft launch in Nigeria earlier this year, expansion plans include Ghana, Liberia, and the Bahamas.
A Mission of Love and Leadership
Reflecting on the celebration, Sonia Jackson Myles emphasized the importance of unity across genders through the #OneAccord™ movement, highlighting peace, love, and kindness as cornerstones of leadership. She reaffirmed the Foundation’s mission to empower one billion girls and women to love themselves and each other, a goal reinforced by community partnerships and strong corporate sponsorship.
