CLAAS Redefines Forage Harvesting with Tech-Powered, Record-Breaking JAGUAR 1000

Next-generation harvester combines AI-driven precision, record performance, and operator comfort to revolutionize agricultural efficiency

The JAGUAR 1200 Guinness World Record crew poses after breaking the record.

CLAAS, a global leader in agricultural equipment, has launched the JAGUAR 1000 series forage harvester, setting new benchmarks in power, performance, and precision. Designed for efficiency and throughput, this new generation of forage harvesters integrates advanced automation and artificial intelligence to help farmers and contractors process more crop in less time without compromising quality.

Proven Performance in the Field

The JAGUAR 1200, flagship of the 1000 series with an impressive 1,110-horsepower V12 MAN engine, has already demonstrated its dominance. Michigan custom harvester Chad Brenner reported that the JAGUAR 1200 consistently outperformed competitive models, delivering 25–30% greater throughput and enabling more acres to be covered per season.

The machine’s power was further proven during a Guinness World Record attempt near Dalhart, Texas, where the JAGUAR 1200 harvested 4,515 tons of wheatlage in just 12 hours, more than doubling the previous record of 2,058 tons. “It blew everybody’s minds,” said Todd Poling, owner of P.M.S. Harvesting, who coordinated the event.

According to Matt Jaynes, Product Manager for Forage Harvesters at CLAAS, “Whether a customer wants to reduce fleet size, cover more acres, or harvest more crop at optimal moisture, this machine gives them margin they didn’t have before.”

Real-Time Feed Quality Analysis

For dairy producers, forage quality directly impacts herd health, milk yield, and profitability. Traditionally, farmers had to send silage samples to a lab, waiting up to a week for results – often too late to make operational changes.

The AI-powered chop quality analysis in the CLAAS connect app revolutionizes this process. Producers can simply take a photo of the chopped crop using their smartphone. Within minutes, the AI calculates the Corn Silage Processing Score (CSPS) – an industry-standard measure of feed quality – and returns instant feedback.

This real-time insight enables operators to adjust settings immediately, ensuring higher-quality forage and reducing waste, labor, and time costs.

Smarter by Design

Every model in the JAGUAR 1000 series combines brute power with intelligent control. The 24-liter V12 MAN engine enables the harvester to process up to 500 tons per hour, equivalent to enough feed for 50 cows for an entire year. A wider crop channel and redesigned feeding system ensure smoother flow and consistent chop quality, both essential for maximizing feed value and dairy profitability.

Operator experience has also been elevated. The new cab design minimizes noise and vibration, reducing fatigue during long harvest days. “After six weeks of 14-hour days, the comfort difference is remarkable,” said Brenner.

At its core, the JAGUAR 1000 leverages the CLAAS CEMOS system, an intelligent operating platform that autonomously adjusts engine performance, crop flow, and steering in real time. Features like AUTO PERFORMANCE, AUTO CROP FLOW, and AUTO FILL ensure optimal efficiency, prevent overload, and deliver up to 12% better fuel economy than comparable models.

Setting a New Standard in Agricultural Innovation

By combining automation, AI, and engineering excellence, the CLAAS JAGUAR 1000 series marks a major leap forward for forage harvesting technology. Its record-setting performance, data-driven feed analysis, and operator-focused innovations make it one of the most advanced machines ever developed for modern agriculture.

“CLAAS continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the field,” said Jaynes. “The JAGUAR 1000 series gives producers the tools to harvest smarter, faster, and more efficiently than ever before.”
