CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA — In a groundbreaking move to inspire the next generation of space and sustainability leaders, Viasat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) has launched the “Viasat: Space for Good Challenge 2025”, a first-of-its-kind global STEM innovation competition. This year’s edition expands across the United States, the United Kingdom, and India, engaging students aged 15 and above in creating space-based solutions for improving life on Earth.
The competition, following the success of Viasat’s 2024 Beyond: Space challenge, focuses on sustainable space technologies that solve real-world challenges. Entrants will progress through three stages: conceptual design, digital submission, and a live pitch judged by industry leaders using criteria encompassing technical feasibility, policy impact, and design innovation.
Global Support and Regional Partnerships
The challenge is backed by Lockheed Martin and Astroscale in the UK and BSNL and Indian government agencies in India. This collaborative approach aims to broaden access and relevance to emerging space economies while fostering industry mentorship.
- UK Finals: Week of July 7, 2025 – London
- US Finals: Week of August 11, 2025 – University students
- India Finals: Week of September 23, 2025 – University level
Winners will be awarded university scholarships, underscoring the program’s mission to catalyze long-term engagement in space and STEM fields.
