Munich, Germany – Automatica 2025 concluded its four-day run with a historic surge in attendance and global representation, solidifying its status as the world’s leading trade fair for smart automation and robotics. Held from June 24 to 27 at Messe München, the event attracted 49,300 visitors from over 90 countries, with 800 exhibitors showcasing 1,120 cutting-edge robots across six packed halls.

A Global Stage for Emerging Technologies

Automatica 2025 emphasized the growing influence of AI-powered robotics, SME automation, health tech, and networked production. “Despite challenging economic conditions, the event’s growth in both visitor and exhibitor numbers shows how central robotics is to our industrial future,” noted Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, Co-CEO of Messe München.

Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, echoed this sentiment during his visit, calling robotics and AI “revolutionary tools” that will transform global manufacturing and economic models.

    Strong Endorsements from Industry Leaders

High-profile voices across the automation ecosystem applauded the event. Takayuki Ito, President of the International Federation of Robotics and former VP at FANUC, described Automatica as “a critical global hub for collaboration and innovation.”

KUKA Robotics’ CEO Reinhold Groß remarked on the influx of first-time automation customers, while SME representatives like Martin Bender of Bender + Wirth highlighted the event’s ability to “inspire technical dialogue and real change.”

    Visitor Insights and International Reach

According to post-event surveys, 94% of exhibitors rated the fair as excellent to good, with 88% citing high visitor quality and 87% reporting new customer acquisition. 38% of attendees were international, with top countries including Austria, Italy, South Korea, China, and the U.S.

    Major Announcements and Exhibits

    • NEURA Robotics unveiled its next-generation humanoids, attracting massive crowds and media attention.

    • MVTec Software reported continued growth in interest from both new and long-standing clients, reinforcing its role in the evolving machine vision sector.

    • The event also featured start-up showcases, guided tours, and expert workshops, including the munich_i Hightech Summit, which hosted executives from Google DeepMind, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.

    Forward Momentum and Strategic Significance

Frank Konrad, Chairman of the Board and CEO at HAHN Automation, is quite satisfied with the four trade fair days: “automatica 2025 was yet another indicator of just how crucial smart automation and robotics are for the industry’s future. Agility, an open mind with regard to new technology, and constructive regional economic policy are pivotal factors in securing Europe’s role as an automation powerhouse. We experienced great inspiration in Munich and have a clear take-away from the week we spent here: The future is automated—and we are prepared to shape it together with our customers.”

The next edition of Automatica is scheduled for June 22–25, 2027, and will once again be co-located with Laser World of Photonics and World of Quantum, promising an even more expansive fusion of industrial, AI, and photonics innovations.
