ATLANTA – CENTEGIX®, the leading provider of wearable panic button solutions for K-12 schools, has introduced a major enhancement to its CrisisAlert platform through an advanced integration with RapidSOS. The update delivers real-time status updates, dynamic incident reclassification, and interactive mapping, dramatically reducing emergency response times.
When a staff member activates CrisisAlert, two simultaneous actions are triggered:
-
Silent Panic or Active Assailant Alerts are instantly transmitted to 911 Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs) through RapidSOS UNITE, displaying the staff member’s exact room-level location on a dynamic map.
-
A RapidSOS Safety Agent places a priority call to 911, providing voice confirmation and redundancy notifications.
Real Time Event Status: Faster Decisions, Better Coordination
The latest update allows onsite responders to dynamically update an incident’s classification (e.g., changing a fight to an active shooter situation) directly in CrisisAlert. These updates are pushed immediately to ECC systems, giving public safety teams real-time situational awareness.
Additionally, two-way statusing within CrisisAlert enables onsite responders to share updates on location changes, medical needs, or area safety—eliminating delays caused by traditional radios or phone calls.
“When seconds matter, accurate information is everything,” said Vince Zappa, Chief Product Officer, CENTEGIX. “This innovation ensures that dispatchers, responders, and administrators have the most up-to-date picture of what’s happening so they can act decisively and effectively in unison.”
Dynamic Mapping: A Game-Changer for Emergency Response
Unlike static campus maps, CENTEGIX’s live interactive maps provide:
-
Exact alert location in real time.
-
Display of critical safety assets (AEDs, overdose kits, surveillance cameras).
-
Direct delivery to 911 dispatchers via RapidSOS, helping emergency services plan responses more effectively.
“Our collaboration with CENTEGIX marks a significant step forward in equipping organizations with life-saving communication tools for emergencies,” said Karin Marquez, Chief Public Safety Brand Officer at RapidSOS. “CENTEGIX is providing a dynamic map available through our Silent Panic and Active Assailant integrations for every campus. By integrating our intelligent safety communication platform with CENTEGIX’s Safety Platform, we’re closing a critical gap, enabling emergency responders to act swiftly and effectively to protect lives.”
