Alaska Air Group has announced Jason Berry as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Alaska Airlines. With 30 years of industry experience and leadership across cargo, ground services, and regional operations, Berry will guide Alaska Airlines through its next phase of growth while continuing the airline’s commitment to safety, reliability, and exceptional guest experiences.Berry currently serves as President of Horizon Air and Executive Vice President of Cargo for Alaska Air Group. His leadership has been instrumental in optimizing operational performance and team management across multiple facets of the airline industry, including previous roles at Air Canada, Cargolux, and McGee Air Services.

Operational Details:
Berry will officially assume the COO role on November 3, 2025. Constance von Muehlen, the outgoing COO, will provide advisory support until February 2026 to ensure a seamless leadership transition. Berry’s experience and operational expertise position him to strengthen Alaska Airlines’ frontline teams and enhance operational efficiency across all departments.
Strategic Significance:
Berry’s appointment aligns with Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines’ integration under a single operating certificate (SOC) by the FAA. His leadership will support Alaska Air Group’s global expansion and its ongoing mission to connect guests with safety, care, and exceptional performance.
