Genesis Motor America and the Genesis Inspiration Foundation have expanded their commitment to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) education across North Texas. Through interactive workshops and grant funding, the initiative aims to enhance access to creative and technical learning opportunities for students in the region.
Expanding Access to STEAM Education
STEAM education plays a critical role in preparing students for future careers by integrating creativity with technical skills. Programs that combine art, design, and engineering foster innovation and problem-solving abilities among young learners.
Genesis, through its corporate social responsibility initiative Genesis Gives, is actively investing in educational programs that support under-resourced communities, ensuring broader access to high-quality learning experiences.
Operational Details: Workshops and Grant Support
As part of the initiative, 50 eighth-grade students participated in a hands-on STEAM workshop at the Mesquite Independent School District Professional Development Center. The session introduced students to automotive design and engineering concepts, including a walkthrough of the Genesis GV60.
Students also engaged in a future mobility design challenge, building innovative concepts using upcycled materials—encouraging sustainability, creativity, and practical problem-solving.
In addition to workshops, the Genesis Inspiration Foundation awarded $25,000 in grants to Junior Players and North Texas Performing Arts. These funds will support arts education programs, enabling more students to participate in theatre, music, and creative development initiatives.
Economic Impact: Investing in Community and Education
Investments in STEAM education contribute to long-term economic growth by building a skilled and creative workforce. By supporting nonprofit organizations and educational institutions, Genesis is helping to bridge opportunity gaps and foster talent development in local communities.
Such initiatives not only benefit students but also strengthen the broader educational ecosystem, encouraging collaboration between corporate entities and community organizations.
Strategic Significance: Driving Inclusive Innovation
The initiative reflects Genesis’s broader vision of combining innovation with social impact. By integrating arts and technology, the company is promoting a more inclusive approach to education—one that values creativity alongside technical expertise.
With over $2 million contributed through Genesis Gives since 2022 and more than $13 million in grants awarded by the Genesis Inspiration Foundation, the organization continues to play a significant role in advancing youth education nationwide.
This effort reinforces the importance of partnerships between corporations and nonprofits in shaping future-ready, creative, and skilled communities.
