FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Stuart “Stu” Cooper, a well-known technology and healthcare business leader and long-time member of the Williamson County Republican Party, has officially launched his campaign for the open seat in Tennessee’s Seventh Congressional District.

Cooper, who chaired Mark Green’s first congressional campaign in Williamson County, is positioning his candidacy on faith-based leadership, conservative values, and fiscal discipline.

Stuart Cooper said, “Growing up in the Volunteer State, I have always valued service. Tennesseans are the first to raise their hand to serve. We love God, work tirelessly for our families, and will protect our communities at all costs. We work long days and pour everything we have into creating a good life for the ones we love. I will work tirelessly to ensure that the 7th Congressional District of Tennessee remains one of the best places in the country to live, work, worship, and play. I’m a strong believer in House Speaker Mike Johnson’s 7 Core Principles of Conservatism and will work to ensure that each person I represent can enjoy the benefits of individual freedom, limited government, the protection of the rule of law, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets, and human dignity. The people who live in the 7th District of Tennessee are some of the best people in this country and in the world. Representing this district will be an enormous privilege and joy.”

    A Legacy of Conservative Leadership

Cooper has earned endorsements and praise from key Republican figures, including Ryan Higgins, a former senior staffer for President Donald J. Trump and Senior Advisor to Charlie Kirk.

“Stu is someone we can rest easy at night knowing he is in DC fighting for our families and our Christian values,” Higgins said.

The identical twin brother of pastor and best-selling author Craig Allen Cooper, Stuart has also secured support from Grammy-nominated country music star Walker Hayes.

Tennessean Roots and Dedication to Service

Born in Chattanooga, educated in Knoxville, and a Franklin resident since 2013, Cooper represents the fifth generation of his family in Tennessee. He lives with his wife of 26 years, Jenny, and their four children.

“Growing up in the Volunteer State, I have always valued service,” Cooper noted. “We love God, work tirelessly for our families, and will protect our communities at all costs.”

He pledged to uphold House Speaker Mike Johnson’s 7 Core Principles of Conservatism, including limited government, free markets, and individual freedom.

Career Achievements and Republican Party Service

Cooper has 25 years of experience in healthcare and technology, holding an MBA from the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business. His leadership includes:

    • Successfully negotiating 7–8 figure M&A deals, generating over $133 million and creating hundreds of jobs.

    • Serving as Chairman of the Williamson County Republican Party’s Chairman’s Circle (2017–2019).

    • Receiving the Williamson County Republican Party endorsement in 2016 for the local School Board.

    • Descending from a Son of the American Revolution and honoring his late father’s service as a 2016 Republican Convention delegate for Donald Trump.

A Vision for the Seventh District

“Representing this district will be an enormous privilege and joy,” Cooper said. “I stand for a Congress ingrained with traditional American values, embodying the strong, traditional principles that our nation was built on.”

His campaign website, www.cooper4congress.com, outlines his priorities:
    ✅ Faith-driven leadership
    ✅ Fiscal responsibility
    ✅ Protection of constitutional freedoms
✅ Strengthening family values and community resilience

Cooper aims to preserve Tennessee’s reputation as one of the best places to live, work, worship, and raise a family.
