Legacy has announced the launch of the “Emerging Leaders in Reproductive Science Award,” a new initiative dedicating more than $50,000 toward supporting residents and fellows pursuing careers in fertility care and reproductive medicine. The recurring recognition program will provide weekly $1,000 awards to promising early-career clinicians and researchers across the United States.
The program is designed to recognize individuals training in specialties including urology, obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI), and related reproductive science disciplines. According to Legacy, the initiative aims to provide both financial support and national visibility for young professionals contributing to advancements in fertility treatment, reproductive health research, and patient-centered care.
Applications for the award program are now open, with the first recipient expected to be announced on June 1, 2026. Eligible residents and fellows can apply through Legacy’s online submission platform, where selection criteria and application timelines have been outlined.
Legacy stated that the award was created in response to increasing demand for fertility care specialists and the growing importance of innovation in reproductive medicine. The company noted that residents and fellows often play a critical role in patient care, research, and clinical innovation, yet many early-career professionals face limited access to funding opportunities and professional recognition during training.
Khaled Kteily, Founder and CEO of Legacy, said the initiative is intended to encourage the next generation of leaders in fertility care and reproductive science. He emphasized that advancements in reproductive medicine depend on clinicians and researchers willing to develop new treatment methods, improve patient outcomes, and challenge traditional approaches to fertility care.
The company also highlighted several focus areas the program hopes to support, including male infertility diagnosis and treatment, IVF and assisted reproductive technology (ART) optimization, fertility preservation before cancer treatment, reproductive health accessibility, and digital technologies designed to improve patient experiences.
Unlike traditional one-time scholarship programs, Legacy’s award model will operate on a rolling weekly basis, enabling broader participation and recognition across multiple specialties and training stages throughout the year. The company believes this structure will help showcase a wider range of emerging voices shaping the future of reproductive healthcare.
Founded as a digital fertility clinic specializing in sperm testing and sperm freezing services, Legacy partners with individuals, employers, healthcare providers, and health plans to improve access to fertility preservation and reproductive health services nationwide.
