At C&R 2025 in Madrid, Midea Building Technologies (MBT) unveiled its latest portfolio of high-efficiency HVAC solutions, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and intelligent building technologies. The showcase marked the first overseas debut of MBT’s next-generation R32 VRF system, accompanied by products selected for the event’s prestigious Innovation Gallery.
Advancing European and Global Energy Efficiency Goals
As Europe intensifies its shift toward renewable heating and low-carbon infrastructure, MBT’s innovations address the region’s rising demand for climate-friendly building systems. The company’s presentation at C&R 2025 aligns with global efforts to reduce emissions, improve energy performance, and accelerate adoption of R290 and R32-based technologies.
Operational Details: Flagship Technologies on Display
Next-Generation R32 VRF System
Debuting internationally for the first time, the new R32 VRF system features an IP68-rated sealed electrical box with phase-transition refrigerant cooling, delivering 3.5× higher cooling efficiency. A 310° G-type heat exchanger expands heat transfer area by 32%, supporting cooling and heating outputs of 25.2–45 kW for diverse commercial applications.
Mars Large R290 ATW Heat Pump
Featured in the Innovation Gallery, this eco-friendly heat pump uses low-GWP R290 refrigerant, reaching water temperatures up to 85°C. With a compact 1.96 m² footprint and heating capacities of 50–70 kW, it suits both residential and commercial deployments, offering easy four-side access for simplified maintenance.
MagBoost Apex Pro Magnetic Centrifugal Chiller
Also selected for the Innovation Gallery, the chiller integrates magnetic bearing technology, micro-channel cooled VFD, and back-to-back two-stage compression for quiet, high-efficiency operation. Ideal for data centres and large industrial facilities, it significantly reduces energy use and operational costs.
Additional HVAC Solutions
MBT showcased a broad range of technologies, including the EasyFit VRF system, Quantum series, ultra-high-temperature steam compressors, and AquaThermal Max R32 air-cooled heat pumps, all designed for energy efficiency, ease of installation, and smart building integration.
Economic Impact: Supporting Cost Efficiency and Low-Carbon Operations
MBT’s solutions reduce long-term energy expenditure for commercial, residential, and industrial facilities. By integrating environmentally friendly refrigerants and high-efficiency designs, the company enables building owners to meet tightening regulations while lowering operational costs.
