Toyota Industries Corporation has announced the formation of a new global warehouse automation business, Toyota Automated Logistics (TAL), along with the appointment of its global leadership team. The initiative marks a major strategic move to unify multiple automation capabilities under a single brand focused on scalable, end-to-end intralogistics solutions.
The new platform will make its official debut at LogiMAT 2026 and MODEX 2026, ahead of its formal launch scheduled for April 1, 2026.

Toyota Automated Logistics (TAL) brings together the strengths of three established automation businesses:
- Bastian Solutions
- Vanderlande (warehousing division)
- viastore
By consolidating these organizations under one brand, TAL aims to deliver scalable systems, intelligent software, and full lifecycle services backed by Toyota’s engineering and reliability standards.
Global Leadership Structure Announced
TAL will be led by three regional CEOs, forming a globally distributed leadership model:
- Hitoshi Matsuoka – CEO, Central
- Thomas Hibinger – CEO, EMEA & APAC
- Aaron M. Jones – CEO, Americas
According to leadership statements, this structure is designed to strengthen regional responsiveness while maintaining a unified global strategy.

A long-time executive at Toyota Industries Corporation, Matsuoka has held leadership roles in materials handling and previously served as President of Toyota Automated Logistics North America. He currently serves as an executive officer and board member within Toyota’s industrial ecosystem.
Thomas Hibinger
Hibinger currently leads viastore as CEO, overseeing large-scale warehouse automation deployments across more than 3,000 facilities in Europe.
Aaron M. Jones
Jones leads Bastian Solutions and has driven significant expansion, including multiple strategic acquisitions and major revenue growth during his tenure.
