U.S. Agriculture Reinforces Global Leadership at Gulfood 2025

At Gulfood 2025, the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade event held in Dubai, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reaffirmed its global leadership in shaping the future of food trade.

The U.S. delegation, led by senior USDA officials and representatives from dozens of agribusinesses, highlighted the country’s commitment to strengthening global food systems through innovation, strategic partnerships, and a focus on long-term sustainability.

The U.S. pavilion at Gulfood showcased a diverse portfolio of American agricultural products—ranging from grains and nuts to dairy, meat, and plant-based foods. Backed by nearly 200 U.S. exhibitors and trade groups, the event served as a platform for connecting American farmers, ranchers, and producers with buyers, distributors, and policymakers from more than 100 countries.

Trade Relationships Built on Trust

Speaking at the U.S. pavilion, Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Alexis M. Taylor emphasized the nation’s enduring commitment to fair, open, and science-based trade.

“The United States is not only a global food producer—it is a global food partner,” said Taylor. “Through every shipment and every handshake, we’re building trust, supporting rural economies, and enhancing global food security.”

Gulfood 2025 provided a platform for reinforcing bilateral trade agreements and negotiating new export opportunities, particularly in rapidly growing markets in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. According to USDA data, U.S. agricultural exports exceeded $180 billion in 2024, with top categories including soybeans, corn, beef, poultry, and tree nuts.

Sustainability, Innovation, and Collaboration

In response to growing concerns over climate resilience, water scarcity, and food waste, the U.S. delegation also spotlighted its commitment to climate-smart agriculture and supply chain modernization. Attendees engaged in panels discussing sustainable irrigation technologies, regenerative farming, and public-private collaborations aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of global food production.

U.S. companies demonstrated leading-edge agricultural technologies—from drone-guided precision planting to AI-powered crop monitoring—designed to enhance yield, reduce resource consumption, and improve soil health.

A Unified Voice for Global Food Security

The U.S. presence at Gulfood also underscored the importance of collaboration across governments, academia, and industry. USDA officials held strategic discussions with trade ministers and global NGOs to address food insecurity, trade logistics, and digital agriculture adoption.

As the global demand for safe, nutritious, and affordable food continues to rise, the United States remains steadfast in its role as a reliable agricultural supplier and sustainability advocate.
