From June 24–27, automatica 2025 turned Munich into the global hub of robotics and smart automation. With over 770 exhibitors from 40 countries, the event offered not just cutting-edge product showcases but a comprehensive supporting program focused on the megatrends reshaping industry: artificial intelligence, mobile robotics, no-code interfaces, and healthcare automation.

AI and Digitization: The Future of Connected Industry
Digital twins, interoperable systems, and AI-powered insights are now essential for efficient production. The Connected Machines special show (Hall B5.224) showcased how organizations like the OPC Foundation and umati are building simplified machine-to-machine communication for real-world applications.
Meanwhile, Smart Maintenance+ (Hall B6.520) explored AI-driven solutions to reduce downtime, optimize service, and improve profitability. One standout was a virtual journey into the SAP power plant in the industrial metaverse, offering a hands-on look at predictive maintenance tools.
In Hall A3.433, the cross-trade-fair exhibit Photonics meets Robotics brought together AI, optics, and robotics to demonstrate how first-time-right (FTR) production is becoming a reality.
Mobile Robotics and Service Robots in Action
The Mesh-Up demo in Hall B4.330 drew crowds by showcasing AGVs and AMRs working in coordinated harmony through the open VDA 5050 interface—proving that multi-vendor robot fleets can now operate on the same production floor with centralized control.
In the Service Robotics Arena (Hall A4.210), humanoids like the G1 and agile robots like Go2 demonstrated tasks across healthcare, hospitality, and construction, hinting at the coming boom in robotic assistants.
Automatic Debuts Healthtech Focus
This year marked the launch of Focus Healthtech, a new vertical for robots in medicine. From heart surgery to cell therapy and rehabilitation, exhibitors highlighted breakthrough use cases in healthcare automation.
Visitors explored these innovations at the MedtecLIVE Healthtech Pavilion (Hall A4.218) and the two-day MedtecSUMMIT (June 25–26, Hall B4.331)—featuring top experts from medicine, academia, and industry.
Simplifying Automation for SMEs
Targeting small and medium-sized enterprises, the TestZone: Robotics for SMEs (Hall A5.430) allowed visitors to trial no-code robotic applications designed for rapid deployment. On June 27, hands-on workshops offered practical guidance on scaling automation affordably.
Global Dialogues and Industry Leadership
Automatica 2025 continued proven formats like the AI.Society special show, the Start-up Arena, and the Young Talent and Career Day. Exclusive networking events such as Spotlight India and the automatica Innovation Bridge further enriched the B2B landscape.
A major highlight was the munich_i Hightech Summit, hosted by MIRMI at TUM, with visionaries from Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Nvidia outlining the future of AI-powered robotics.
