AutoFlight Completes China’s First 2-Ton eVTOL Tea Delivery Trial

Lead-in: Autonomous air cargo system enables same-day delivery from remote mountain regions to major cities

AutoFlight has successfully completed China’s first 2-ton class eVTOL transport trial, marking a major milestone in autonomous cargo aviation. The trial demonstrated how advanced aerial logistics can transform supply chains, particularly in geographically challenging regions.

Trial Overview and Operational Success

The test was conducted in Guizhou Province, where AutoFlight deployed its CarryAll (V2000CG), a fully autonomous unmanned eVTOL aircraft. The aircraft transported fresh spring tea between Anshun and Guiyang—a distance of approximately 120 km—in just 37 minutes.

This significantly reduced transit time compared to traditional road transport across mountainous terrain, showcasing the efficiency of vertical take-off and landing systems in remote areas.

Integrated Logistics Model: Air + Rail

Following the aerial delivery, the tea was transported via high-speed rail over nearly 2,000 km to Shanghai. This integrated “eVTOL + high-speed train” model enabled same-day delivery, ensuring fresh produce reached consumers within 24 hours.

The hybrid logistics approach highlights how emerging air mobility solutions can complement existing infrastructure to create faster and more efficient supply chains.

Key Advantages of eVTOL Cargo Systems

AutoFlight’s autonomous eVTOL platform offers several operational advantages. Its pilotless design enhances safety and efficiency, while its high cruising speed reduces delivery times significantly. The fully electric propulsion system ensures low noise and zero operating emissions, aligning with sustainability goals.

Additionally, the vertical take-off and landing capability allows for point-to-point delivery without requiring traditional runway infrastructure.

CarryAll (V2000CG) Specifications and Certification

The CarryAll (V2000CG) is the world’s first 2-ton class eVTOL aircraft to receive type certification, production approval, and airworthiness certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Key specifications include a maximum payload of 400 kg, a range of up to 200 km, and a cruising speed of approximately 180 km/h, making it suitable for diverse logistics applications.
