Tendeg, a leading provider of deployable antenna systems for space, has announced the completion of its new 120,000-square-foot facility, named “Innovation Drive.” Located in Colorado’s aerospace corridor, the purpose-built facility is designed to scale the production of high-performance RF apertures for spacecraft. The facility is now entering its operational phase and will support various programs across the defense, intelligence, and commercial space sectors.
Meeting the Demand for Industrial-Scale Production
As the global space domain becomes more contested, the ability to produce precision hardware at scale has become a key strategic differentiator. Deployable antennas, once considered specialized products, are now crucial for enabling secure communication, persistent sensing, and real-time intelligence across proliferated orbital architectures.
“Space dominance will be decided in part by industrial scaled production,” said Gregg Freebury, Founder and CEO of Tendeg. “The U.S. has the talent and the tools. With Innovation Drive, we’re adding industrial capacity for this critical asset. This facility is built to deliver the high performing deployable antennas space missions require, at a pace national security demands.”
Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities
Innovation Drive is a vertically integrated facility that enables the parallel production of both small and large aperture reflectors. The facility features modular bays, vertically integrated systems, and on-site test and inspection capabilities. This setup brings engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance into a single workflow, which shortens timelines, reduces risk, and increases throughput.
Scott Slack, Tendeg’s Director of Marketing & Communications, emphasized that the company is actively building this capability, not just talking about it. With 25 antennas already in orbit and production ramping up at the new facility, Tendeg is poised to become a key industrial backbone for space hardware.
Strengthening Colorado’s Aerospace Leadership
The opening of Innovation Drive also solidifies Colorado’s status as a national leader in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. With a growing workforce of over 145 full-time employees, Tendeg is investing in the region’s industrial base and contributing to a durable and sovereign supply chain for U.S. space infrastructure.
