Hyundai Wins Corporate Social Responsibility Award for Child Safety Initiative at Ragan’s 2025 Zenith Awards

Automaker Honored for Advancing Nationwide Child Passenger and Pedestrian Safety

Hyundai Motor America has been recognized with a top honor in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category at the 2025 Zenith Awards hosted by Ragan Communications. The award celebrates the company’s Child Passenger and Pedestrian Safety Initiative, a national program dedicated to improving child safety through education, community outreach, and hospital partnerships—aligning with Hyundai’s broader Progress for Humanity vision.

A National Commitment to Protecting Children

Hyundai’s initiative is a cornerstone of Hyundai Hope, the company’s CSR platform focused on enhancing community wellbeing. As child injuries remain a critical public safety concern, Hyundai has partnered with leading hospitals and experts nationwide to deliver hands-on education and safety resources for families. The program underscores the automaker’s long-standing commitment to prioritizing vulnerable populations.

    How the Initiative Works

The Child Passenger and Pedestrian Safety Initiative connects families with certified technicians and safety specialists who provide training on proper car seat installation, pedestrian awareness, and everyday road safety practices. Hyundai collaborates with an extensive network of hospitals across the U.S., including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Texas Children’s Hospital, UCI Health, and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, ensuring wide-reaching community impact.

In Los Angeles, Hyundai’s partnership with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) also powers LA Street Smarts—a mobile, life-size training environment with traffic signals and interactive elements that teaches children how to navigate streets safely.

Strengthening Communities Through Safety and Education

By expanding safety awareness and reducing preventable injuries, Hyundai’s initiative supports healthier communities and lowers long-term healthcare burdens. The company’s broader U.S. operations—including manufacturing, R&D, and dealership networks—contribute $20.1 billion annually to the U.S. economy and support 190,000 jobs, reinforcing the economic value of its community-focused programs.

Recognition of Excellence in Communications and Social Responsibility

At the 2025 Zenith Awards Gala in Austin, Texas, Hyundai was honored alongside industry leaders for delivering campaigns that inspire positive change. The company also received four additional Honorable Mentions across various categories on behalf of Hyundai Motor America, Genesis Motor America, Hyundai Hope on Wheels, and the Genesis Inspiration Foundation. This recognition further highlights Hyundai’s leadership in meaningful CSR communication and impact-driven initiatives.
