SINEXCEL (300693.SZ) has taken a major step in its North American strategy by partnering with SMTC Corporation, a U.S.-based electronics manufacturing services provider, to localize production of its EV chargers. The agreement, announced at RE+ 2025, positions SINEXCEL to meet the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act requirements while enabling faster rollout of its charging solutions across the U.S.

growing demand and regulatory push
With U.S. federal and state programs driving EV adoption, manufacturers face mounting pressure to localize supply chains. Compliance with the BABA Act is now essential for participation in federally funded infrastructure projects. By partnering with SMTC, SINEXCEL strengthens its position in this evolving market, reducing reliance on overseas production while supporting domestic job creation and supply chain security.

Fremont and Bay Area facilities
Under the partnership, SINEXCEL’s advanced EV chargers will be produced at SMTC’s Fremont and Bay Area facilities. SMTC brings expertise in PCBA production, systems integration, and box-build assembly, backed by ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications. This collaboration ensures adherence to “Made in America” standards while shortening lead times, improving supply chain efficiency, and enhancing customer service nationwide.
Josh Chien, Chief Commercial Officer of SMTC, highlighted that the collaboration will accelerate product rollout and guarantee high reliability standards for U.S. customers.

scaling EV charging infrastructure
Localized production of EV chargers provides tangible economic benefits:
-
Job creation in U.S. manufacturing hubs.
-
Reduced logistics costs and faster delivery times.
-
Improved eligibility for federally funded EV infrastructure projects.
-
Greater supply chain resilience, reducing vulnerability to global disruptions.
For SINEXCEL, this means scaling its portfolio to meet surging demand in the U.S. while ensuring affordability and availability for charging operators and end-users.
global innovation, local execution
Mike Heiden, Regional Sales Director at SINEXCEL, emphasized that the partnership combines global innovation with local manufacturing, creating a stronger foundation for long-term growth in sustainable solutions. Beyond EV charging, SINEXCEL aims to leverage this U.S. manufacturing footprint to advance its broader energy transition agenda, including energy storage and power quality solutions.
The SINEXCEL–SMTC partnership represents more than a manufacturing agreement: it is a strategic milestone in SINEXCEL’s global expansion and commitment to sustainable energy. By localizing EV charger production in the U.S., the company not only aligns with national policy priorities but also reinforces its mission to deliver reliable, high-quality, and future-ready charging solutions.
